NCAE Officer Responsibility and Duties
President:
The President shall preside over all meetings, be responsible for all correspondence from Raleigh, shall oversee the treasurer's reports, make sure that all members receive information, shall attend Leadership training, shall attend District Roundtable meetings each month and report back to the local, shall arrange for training of AR's at the beginning of the year, arrange for training of officers prior to the start of school, develop a yearly plan, arrange for the New Teacher dinner and presentation, speak at the New Teacher training for the county, and shall oversee all operations of the local unit. The President shall be responsible for seeing that the rights of all members be maintained and that all members know whom to contact during a time of complaint from administrators.
Vice-President/President-Elect:
The Vice-President/President-Elect shall work with the president to see that all local unit business is done, shall step in to reside over meetings in the absence of the president, shall help to plan for special dinners, shall attend meetings when the president is unable to do so, and shall become president the following year. The VP is responsible for arranging the end of year banquet and recognition of retirees and the outgoing president. The VP shall be in charge or help with anything that the president may request of him/her. The VP shall attend a training meeting prior to the start of the school year.
Treasurer:
The Treasurer shall be responsible for all monies collected and dispersed throughout the year. The Treasurer shall be responsible for maintaining the membership records and for training the AR's prior to the start of school. The Treasurer shall report to the local unit each month an accounting of funds. The Treasurer shall complete and file all necessary paperwork with Raleigh. The Treasurer shall be responsible for keeping accurate records. The Treasurer shall assist the president in whatever areas may be requested. The Treasurer shall attend a training meeting prior to the start of the school year.
Secretary:
The Secretary shall be responsible for all correspondence from the local unit. It is the duty of the Secretary to keep accurate minutes from all meetings and to be prepared to report the minutes at the next meeting. The Secretary shall prepare the agenda, send a copy of the agenda and a copy of the minutes to the president prior to the meeting. The Secretary shall be responsible for announcing to all AR's and the membership each monthly meeting. The Secretary shall assist the president in whatever areas may be requested. The Secretary shall attend a training meeting prior to the start of the school year.
