Ninth grade is an extremely important year. Please make sure you stay informed, so you have a great start to high school.
Know that Everything "Counts"
From the moment you enter high school, everything starts to count. All ninth grade courses and credits will be reflective on your transcript and this is the year your grades will be used to calculate your Grade Point Average (GPA). When you begin applying to colleges, looking for employment or starting the process of enlisting in the military, you will be required to submit a copy of your official high school transcript.
Practice Good Study Habits so they become second nature. If your techniques are not successful, ask your teachers and peers for suggestions. Do not give up.

Have Good Study Habits
1) Stay organize
2) Utilize a planner to help keep track of assignments, tests, quizzes, appointments, etc.
3) Break down large assignments into smaller, more manageable tasks.
4) Use effective time managements skills. Do not wait until the last minute to complete work assignments or study.
Get Involved
When applying to college, colleges pay special attention to the whole student and not just academically. Build your resume/application by getting involved in extracurricular activities such as sports, clubs or various programs throughout the area. Try something new. It is okay to step out of your comfort zone.
