Parent/Teacher Conferences
Spring Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held Thursday, March 18, 2010. Wadesboro Primary and Wadesboro Elementary Schools will dismiss at 12:30 pm. All other elementary schools will dismiss at 1:00 pm. Conferences will begin at 1:30 pm and end at 6:30 pm. Middle school and all high schools will dismiss at 1:20 pm. Conferences will begin at 2:00 pm and end at 7:00 pm.
Inclement Weather Make Up Information
March 26, 2010 will be a regular student attendance day to make up the day missed due to inclement weather on February 1, 2010.
Board of Education Meeting Location Change
The Board of Education meeting scheduled for March 29, 2010, will be held at Ansonville Elementary School. The Regular Meeting begins at 5:30 pm. with Closed Session immediately following the opening of the meeting. The Open Session begins at 6:30 pm.
Educator’s Gift Program
Anson Bank & Trust continued their Educator’s Gift Program for Anson County Schools’ teachers and staff by donating $2,000 to Anson County Schools. When an Anson County School staff member opens an Educator’s Gift account, the teacher or staff chooses the school to which they would like their $1 monthly service charge donated. Anson Bank & Trust has committed to donate as much as $40,000 to Anson County Schools if 90% of teachers and staff participate in the Educator’s Gift Program.
The Golden Leaf Foundation Grants ACS Funds for Apple Computers
The Golden Leaf Foundation awarded ACS a check for $501,788. This generous grant afforded our district the ability to purchase a number of Apple computers. The Technology Department created three Scientific Learning labs focused on helping students develop basic skills which allows them to develop higher comprehension for success in all academic subjects. Upper classmen are being issued laptops to use throughout the day in their career academies for project-based learning, online research, online college courses, career portfolio development, and home-school connection.
